Job Role: Assistant Cook

An Assistant Cook supports the Head or Chief Cook in preparing meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. This role involves basic food preparation, assisting with cooking, and helping keep the kitchen organized and clean.

Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Assist in chopping, cutting, peeling, and marinating ingredients as per instructions.

• Cooking Assistance: Support the Cook or Chef in cooking and plating meals during preparation and service times.

• Cleaning Duties: Clean kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment before and after cooking activities.

• Stocking: Help store food supplies properly and retrieve ingredients when needed.

• Waste Management: Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and help maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.

• Inventory Support: Help check and record inventory levels and inform the Cook about any shortages or spoiled items.

• Meal Service: Assist in portioning and serving food during mealtimes, especially in large-scale kitchens or camps.

• Health & Safety: Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations while handling and preparing food.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1–2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.

• Skills: Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.

• Teamwork: Willingness to work under supervision and as part of a team.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to work long hours in a hot kitchen, lift light loads, and stand for extended periods.

• Education: High school certificate preferred; a basic food handling or hygiene certificate is an advantage.

• Language: Basic communication skills in English or local language.

Conditions:

• Contract period: Two (2) years

• Food:  provided by the company.

• Transportation: Provided by the company.

• Accommodation: Provided by the company.

• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.

• Overtime: As per UAE government law.

• Vacation: 21 days per year. As per UAE law

• Medical facilities: Provided as per company policy.

• Air passage: One-way free ticket after completing the contract.

• Other conditions: All other terms as per UAE government law.
