Job Role: Camp Boss

A Camp Boss is responsible for overseeing and managing all activities in a workers’ or staff accommodation camp. This includes ensuring the cleanliness, safety, comfort, and discipline of the camp environment, managing catering and housekeeping staff, and maintaining proper inventory and reporting systems. The Camp Boss ensures the smooth day-to-day operations of the camp facility.

Responsibilities:

• Camp Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the camp, including accommodation, catering, housekeeping, and maintenance.

• Staff Supervision: Supervise camp staff including cooks, cleaners, security personnel, and maintenance workers. Allocate tasks and ensure staff adherence to camp policies.

• Accommodation Management: Ensure proper allocation of rooms/beds, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, and inspect living conditions regularly.

• Food & Catering: Supervise the preparation and distribution of meals. Ensure food quality, hygiene, and proper storage. Address complaints or issues regarding food services.

• Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of supplies (food, cleaning materials, maintenance tools) and manage stock levels to avoid shortages.

• Safety & Security: Enforce camp safety rules, conduct regular inspections, and ensure the camp complies with health, safety, and fire regulations.

• Facility Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance and repairs of infrastructure, plumbing, electricity, and other utilities to keep the camp in good condition.

• Discipline & Welfare: Handle staff grievances, ensure camp rules are followed, and provide a respectful and harmonious living environment.

• Reports & Documentation: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on camp activities, staff attendance, inventory, and issues encountered.

• Liaison Duties: Coordinate with HR and project management teams regarding manpower movement, new arrivals, and site requirements.

Requirements:

• Experience: 3–5 years of experience as a Camp Boss or in a similar role in a remote camp or large accommodation facility.

• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage large groups of staff and residents in a multicultural environment.

• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and handle logistics and inventory management.

• Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of additional languages (Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, etc.) is a plus.

• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office – Excel, Word) for reporting and record keeping.

• Knowledge: Understanding of catering, housekeeping, hygiene standards, and basic maintenance procedures.

• Problem-Solving: Ability to handle camp issues, resolve conflicts, and respond to emergencies efficiently.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A diploma in hospitality, facility management, or logistics is preferred.

Conditions:

• Contract period: Two (2) years

• Food:  provided by the company.

• Transportation: Provided by the company.

• Accommodation: Provided by the company.

• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.

• Overtime: As per UAE government law.

• Vacation: 21 days per year. As per UAE law

• Medical facilities: Provided as per company policy.

• Air passage: One-way free ticket after completing the contract.

• Other conditions: All other terms as per UAE government law.
