Job Role: Cook

A Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to recipes and standards, ensuring food quality, hygiene, and timely service. Cooks work in various settings, including restaurants, hotels, staff camps, cafeterias, hospitals, and industrial kitchens.

Responsibilities:

• Meal Preparation: Prepare, cook, and present meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks) as per set menus or customer preferences.

• Food Handling: Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to maintain hygiene and food safety.

• Ingredients Preparation: Clean, chop, marinate, and portion ingredients before cooking.

• Kitchen Maintenance: Keep workstations and kitchen equipment clean and organized during and after shifts.

• Storage & Inventory: Store food items properly and monitor stock levels to ensure freshness and availability.

• Assisting Chef: Support the Chief Cook or Head Chef in menu planning, special dishes, and managing the kitchen team when needed.

• Waste Reduction: Practice efficient cooking methods to reduce food waste and maintain portion control.

• Compliance: Follow kitchen safety procedures and food safety regulations (such as HACCP or equivalent).

Requirements:

• Experience: 2–3 years of experience as a Cook in restaurants, camps, hotels, or catering services.

• Skills: Ability to cook multiple cuisines (e.g., Arabic, South Asian, Continental) is an advantage.

• Teamwork: Capable of working effectively in a team environment.

• Physical Fitness: Able to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when required.

• Communication: Basic communication skills in English or the local language.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a culinary certificate is an advantage.

• Certification: Basic food hygiene or safety certificate is preferred.

Conditions:

• Contract period: Two (2) years

• Food:  provided by the company.

• Transportation: Provided by the company.

• Accommodation: Provided by the company.

• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.

• Overtime: As per UAE government law.

• Vacation: 21 days per year. As per UAE law

• Medical facilities: Provided as per company policy.

• Air passage: One-way free ticket after completing the contract.

• Other conditions: All other terms as per UAE government law.
