An HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The role ensures that environmental comfort systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry regulations across residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.
Installation: Install new HVAC systems and components including air conditioners, heaters, ductwork, thermostats, ventilation fans, and refrigeration units.
Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance, such as cleaning filters and coils, checking electrical components, inspecting ductwork, and ensuring proper refrigerant levels.
Repair & Troubleshooting: Diagnose system issues such as refrigerant leaks, electrical faults, airflow problems, and sensor failures. Repair or replace defective components and systems.
System Testing: Conduct performance and safety tests on HVAC systems to ensure proper functionality and efficiency.
Thermostat Configuration: Install and program smart or manual thermostats and integrate them with HVAC systems.
Duct and Airflow Management: Inspect and adjust duct systems for proper airflow and efficiency. Seal leaks and ensure proper insulation.
Compliance & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and ensure systems comply with local codes, environmental regulations (e.g., EPA), and manufacturer specifications.
Documentation: Maintain service records, including repairs performed, parts used, and system specifications.
Customer Service: Explain findings, maintenance requirements, and repair options to clients in clear and professional language.
Emergency Services: Respond to urgent service calls during extreme weather conditions or equipment breakdowns.
Experience: 2–5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or similar role.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and operation principles (cooling/heating cycles, pressure systems, and ventilation).
Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification for refrigerant handling is typically required. Additional certifications (e.g., NATE) are preferred.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an HVAC training program or technical school is preferred.
Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using HVAC tools and equipment, such as refrigerant gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, multimeters, and airflow meters.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in tight or high spaces, and handle physically demanding tasks.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members.
Knowledge of energy-efficient systems and green building practices.
Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems) integration.
Familiarity with commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Location: Work may take place in residential buildings, commercial facilities, hospitals, malls, schools, or industrial sites.
Hours: Full-time; may include shifts, weekends, holidays, or on-call emergency services.
Environment: Indoor and outdoor settings; work in varying climates, confined spaces, and sometimes at heights.
Contract period: 2 years
Food: SR 300 food allowance or provided by the company.
Transportation: Provided by the company.
Accommodation: Provided by the company.
Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.
Overtime: As per KSA government law.
Vacation: 21 days per year.
Medical facilities: Provided as per company policy.
Air passage: One-way free ticket after completing the contract.
Probation period: 3 months (as per KSA law).
Other conditions: All other terms as per KSA government law.
