Mason Full Time

Job Role

A Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of bricks, concrete blocks, stones, or other materials. They interpret blueprints, mix mortar, and lay materials according to project specifications to ensure structural stability and aesthetic quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.

• Measure, cut, and lay bricks, stones, or concrete blocks accurately.

• Mix and apply mortar or cement to bind materials together.

• Construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures as required.

• Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using appropriate tools.

• Repair and replace damaged masonry work.

• Ensure work aligns with safety and quality standards.

• Collaborate with supervisors and other construction workers on site.

• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.

Qualifications

• Minimum O/L or equivalent education (vocational training preferred).

• NVQ or Technical Certificate in Masonry or Building Construction is an advantage.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in building or construction projects.

• Ability to understand and follow technical drawings.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials.

• Good physical fitness and stamina for outdoor and manual work.

• Precision, attention to detail, and ability to work under supervision.

• Knowledge of workplace safety and tool handling.

• Basic communication and teamwork skills.
