Job Role: Steward

A Steward is responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, supporting the kitchen staff, and ensuring that all utensils, dishes, and equipment are clean and properly stored. Stewards play a key role in the overall hygiene and efficiency of food service operations in hotels, restaurants, camps, or catering facilities.

Responsibilities:

• Cleaning Duties: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or manually.

• Kitchen Hygiene: Clean kitchen floors, walls, counters, and equipment to maintain high sanitation standards.

• Dining Area Support: Set up and clean dining areas before and after meals, including tables, chairs, and service stations.

• Waste Management: Properly dispose of kitchen waste and recyclables following hygiene and safety protocols.

• Stocking Supplies: Replenish kitchen and dishwashing supplies such as soap, towels, and cleaning materials.

• Assisting Cooks: Help kitchen staff with basic tasks like ingredient preparation, transporting food, or unloading supplies.

• Equipment Maintenance: Ensure dishwashing and cleaning equipment are in good working condition; report any malfunctions.

• Safety Compliance: Follow food safety, sanitation, and health regulations consistently.

Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience as a steward, dishwasher, or cleaner in a kitchen or hospitality environment is preferred but not required.

• Work Ethic: Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks and work under pressure.

• Teamwork: Ability to work well with kitchen and service staff in a cooperative environment.

• Hygiene Awareness: Basic understanding of cleanliness and food safety standards.

• Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long hours, bend, and lift heavy items.

• Education: No formal education required, but basic literacy and communication skills are helpful.

Conditions:

• Contract period: Two (2) years

• Food:  provided by the company.

• Transportation: Provided by the company.

• Accommodation: Provided by the company.

• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.

• Overtime: As per UAE government law.

• Vacation: 21 days per year. As per UAE law

• Medical facilities: Provided as per company policy.

• Air passage: One-way free ticket after completing the contract.

• Other conditions: All other terms as per UAE government law.
