Job Role: Systems Engineer

A Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring systems operate efficiently, securely, and reliably across the enterprise.

Responsibilities:

• Design, install, configure, and maintain servers, systems, and network infrastructure.

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security.

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and provide timely resolution.

• Manage system backups, disaster recovery, and data protection strategies.

• Automate and optimize system operations and processes using scripting or configuration management tools.

• Ensure systems comply with security policies, patches, and updates.

• Collaborate with developers, network engineers, and other IT staff to support application deployment and infrastructure needs.

• Maintain documentation of systems configurations, processes, and changes.

• Provide technical support and training to internal users when necessary.

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• Proven experience as a systems engineer, system administrator, or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.

• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and storage solutions.

• Familiarity with networking fundamentals, security practices, and firewalls.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, CompTIA Server+) are a plus.
