Job Role: Technician – Electrician

An Electrician Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical wiring, circuits, power distribution, and safety protocols to ensure efficient and safe operation of electrical systems.

Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including lights, outlets, switches, panels, transformers, and circuit breakers.

• Perform routine inspections of electrical systems to detect issues such as faults, overloaded circuits, and outdated wiring.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using tools such as multimeters, circuit testers, and insulation resistance testers.

• Replace or repair damaged electrical components, including switches, wires, outlets, and circuit breakers.

• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals to determine system requirements and configurations.

• Install and wire new electrical systems in new buildings, construction projects, or system upgrades.

• Ensure that all electrical work complies with local, national, and industry-specific electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, OSHA).

• Test electrical systems for efficiency and functionality, ensuring that all systems operate at optimal performance.

• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other technicians during system installations or troubleshooting.

• Provide customers with technical advice on electrical issues and system upgrades.

• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including reports on installations, repairs, parts, and labor.

• Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and organized.

• Respond to emergency breakdowns or outages and provide quick, effective repairs.

• Follow strict safety procedures to minimize the risk of electrical accidents or injuries.

• Stay current with developments in electrical technologies and new installation practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Electrician Technician or in a similar electrical role (typically 2–5 years).

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and components.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.

• Experience with troubleshooting electrical issues, including faulty circuits, wiring, and damaged components.

• Familiarity with electrical codes and safety standards, such as NEC, OSHA, and local regulations.

• Skilled in using electrical tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters, multimeters, and circuit testers.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Physical stamina and dexterity to work in confined spaces, at heights, and with electrical equipment.

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in electrical technology is preferred.

• Valid electrician’s license (if required by local regulations).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in electrical safety or maintenance (e.g., NFPA 70E).

• Experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, or automation.

• Knowledge of power distribution, lighting systems, or energy-efficient electrical solutions.

• Experience with building management systems (BMS) or other automated electrical systems.

• Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) systems.

Working Conditions:

• Location: Residential homes, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, construction sites, or power plants.

• Hours: Full-time; may require evening, weekend, or on-call work, especially for emergency electrical repairs or system failures.

• Environment: The role involves working in a variety of environments, such as indoors and outdoors, in high or low spaces, and sometimes in noisy or hazardous conditions. Adherence to safety protocols is critical.

• Contract period: 2 years

• Food: SR 300 food allowance or provided by the company.

• Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.
