A Telephone Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing telephone systems and communication equipment. This role involves working with both traditional landline systems and modern telecommunication technologies, ensuring that telephone networks operate efficiently and meet the required standards for service quality and reliability.
Install, test, and maintain telephone systems, including landline and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) systems.
Troubleshoot and repair issues related to telephone lines, equipment, and connections, including diagnosing faulty lines, connection issues, and hardware failures.
Run telephone wiring and cables, ensuring proper connections and signal quality for both residential and business setups.
Perform routine inspections and tests to ensure the functionality and safety of telephone equipment and connections.
Configure, set up, and maintain networked telephone systems and devices, ensuring they operate efficiently.
Provide technical support to customers and clients, offering advice on equipment upgrades or system issues.
Ensure all installations comply with local, national, and industry-specific telecommunications regulations and standards.
Install and set up ancillary devices such as voicemail systems, fax machines, and other telecommunication equipment.
Set up and configure telephone switches, call management systems, and other telecommunication control systems.
Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and maintenance activities, including materials used and work hours.
Respond to service calls and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with network engineers or IT teams to troubleshoot issues affecting telephone systems integrated with other IT infrastructure.
Stay updated on new telecommunication technologies and practices.
Proven experience as a Telephone Technician or in a similar role (typically 2–5 years).
Strong knowledge of telephone systems, including analog and digital systems, as well as VoIP systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair telephone equipment and network systems, including wiring, connections, and hardware.
Familiarity with telecommunication industry standards and regulations.
Skilled in using testing equipment, such as line testers, signal testers, and other diagnostic tools.
Experience working with different types of telecommunication hardware (e.g., telephone switches, PBX systems, routers).
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, system diagrams, and wiring schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical ability to install or repair telephone lines and systems, which may require working in confined spaces, at heights, or in challenging conditions.
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in telecommunications or electronics is preferred.
Valid driver’s license if traveling between job sites is required.
Certification in telecommunications technology or related fields (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA).
Experience with both residential and commercial telephone systems.
Knowledge of fiber optic systems and installation.
Familiarity with networked telephone systems and integration with IT infrastructure (e.g., IP PBX).
Experience with troubleshooting and installing broadband services or satellite communication systems.
Location: Residential homes, commercial buildings, telecommunication companies, or construction sites.
Hours: Full-time; may include evening or weekend work, especially for service calls or emergency repairs.
Environment: Work is typically performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. The job may involve physical labor, such as climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, or carrying equipment.
Contract period: 2 years
Food: SR 300 food allowance or provided by the company.

Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours per week.
Overtime: As per KSA government law.
Vacation: 21 days per year.
