Mechanic Assistant Full Time

Job Role:

The Mechanic Assistant supports mechanics and technicians in day-to-day maintenance and repair operations. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals looking to build a career in the automotive or mechanical field by gaining hands-on experience under expert supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Assist senior mechanics in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and machinery.

• Hand tools and equipment to mechanics and hold or position parts during repairs.

• Help with disassembly and reassembly of engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.

• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, and battery checks.

• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas after maintenance tasks are completed.

• Maintain inventory of tools and spare parts and assist in ordering supplies when necessary.

• Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

• Test vehicles and report any unusual noises, leaks, or other performance issues.

• Assist in loading/unloading and moving heavy mechanical parts or equipment.

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of automotive or mechanical systems.

• Previous experience in a garage or workshop environment is preferred.

• Ability to use hand tools and mechanical equipment safely and correctly.

• Physically fit and able to lift, bend, and stand for long periods.

• Willingness to learn and take instructions from senior mechanics.

• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.

• High school diploma or vocational training certificate (preferred).

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
